Efficient vertical sortation with VERTISORTER and VERTICROSS

  • Capacity up 1,800 bags per hour, depending on use
  • No physical impact on bags
  • Flexibility in system design
  • Higher tracking performance because of horizontal conveyors
  • Local controls included
  • Safeguarded design for personal safety

The VERTISORTER, a Vanderlande invention, sorts baggage vertically from one conveyor belt to two others, placed one above the other. Two hinged switch belt conveyors move in opposite directions. The VERTISORTER can also be used the other way around, merging two lines into one.

The VERTICROSS is a vertical sortation and transportation unit related to the VERTISORTER. It can be used for merging, splitting or sorting transport lines. Adding VERTICROSS to the system can lower costs because less equipment and building space are required.

The VERTICROSS can typically be used to create redundancy in a BHS system. In normal situations you would have two transport lines, each with its dedicated destination, but in redundancy you can split one input line into two output lines, or combine two input lines to one output line, giving you more flexibility in the design of your BHS system. The VERTICROSS can also be used to merge and sort baggage from two input lines to two output lines.
