The meat processing firm ProMessa is market leader in the Netherlands in the area of atmospherically packaged fresh meat. ProMessa delivers to wholesalers and retailers.

Vanderlande Industries supplied the firm with an advanced order selection and retrieval system. This system was later extended further. With this system, ProMessa became one of the most modern and progressive pre-packaging companies in the Netherlands. ProMessa has a ‘goods-to-man’ based Compact Picking System (CPS) .

Weighed and identified packaged meat is put in totes, which are stored in a miniload system. Picking takes place in store-order batches. Totes are retrieved from the miniload, transported to an order selection station and the required individual packages are picked. Packages are weighed, priced and labelled before being sorted into individual store orders.
