Vanderlande Industries presenta el nuevo clasificador CROSSORTER™ 900 en Post Expo

Veghel (Netherlands) – Vanderlande Industries (automated material handling systems) will introduce the new CROSSORTER™ 900 – the latest generation of its successful CROSSORTER™ family of cross-belt sorters – at the Post Expo, to be held in London from 30 September to 2 October. The CROSSORTER™ 900 is expected to be especially attractive to express parcel service providers because of its ability to sort larger items such as cartons and totes. This allows the full range of postal and express product flows to be handled by a single sorter.

The CROSSORTER™ systems use two crossbelts on a single carrier, which can operate either individually for smaller items or together for larger items. Large items can span both belts, or alternatively two smaller items can be carried separately on the two belts.

The new CROSSORTER™ 900 complements the existing CROSSORTER™ 400 and 600, which are used to sort envelopes, flat packs and flyers. The CROSSORTER™ 600 and 900 systems can additionally handle cartons and totes, which allows them to sort the full range of postal and express product flows. Maximum lengths of items to be conveyed and sorted on a single belt are 900, 600 and 400 mm, respectively, for the three CROSSORTER™ systems.

Using both belts, the CROSSORTER™ 900 can handle items up to 1400 mm in length and weighing up to 50 kg. Thanks to its special carrier design the new CROSSORTER™ 900 maintains the compact footprint of the CROSSORTER™ family sorters, for example with the same minimum curve radius as the CROSSORTER™ 600.

As well as their use in the express parcel industry, the various CROSSORTER™ models are also extensively used in distribution environments because of their ability to handle products of widely varying shapes and sizes. The products sorted by these systems range from games and books, through apparel, shoes and all kinds of components, right up to large grocery items, cartons, boxes and parcels.
