Corporate Express (Staples), the world’s largest office supply company, chose an integrated order picking system consisting of batch picking for items with order carts supported by Pick-by-Voice technology, and Pick-to-Belt lines for full cartons. The new facility is able to process up to 60.000 orderlines / day. Orders entered by 18:00 are delivered the next day and accuracy exceeds 99,95%.
PLUS Retail is a prominent food retailer in the Netherlands. For their national DC, delivering 278 stores, they selected a system, in which two order picking strategies (goods-to-man and zone picking) are combined into a single, integrated system. This has improved accuracy (99,99%), improved service level to shops, because of family grouping functionality and reduced costs within their distribution network.GAME Stores is a specialist video-game retailer in the UK. Arrow Electronics is the world's largest distributor of electronic components. Their solution consists of automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) for pallets, zone picking, packing and value added services, consolidation of weekly orders with a QUICKSTORE miniload and shipping sortation. The system resulted in delivery reliability exceeding 99,5% and 95% of shipments delivered next day.
