Goods-to-man order picking - CPS: for 1,000 order lines per manhour
Our Compact Picking System (CPS) is an ideal concept for slow-moving products in retail and wholesale distribution centres. It is also beneficial for distribution centres handling parts & components, which face a large product range and very high service-level requirements.
The heart of CPS is the PICK@EASE ergonomic order picking workstation. This innovative workstation portfolio enables operators to achieve a constant high order picking performance (up to 1,000 order lines per operator per hour) over a prolonged period of time, without risk of work-related injury.
CPS takes advantage of our QUICKSTORE family of automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) systems. Miniloads or shuttle systems automatically store and retrieve product totes to PICK@EASE. These systems also make optimal use of available floor space.
Our goods-to-man order picking systems are enabled by our VISION Warehouse Management System (WMS) for the effective handling of the entire warehouse process.
Cock’s Vleeswaren in Sint Niklaas (Belgium) supplies high-quality meat products to specialty stores. Casaventa is Cock’s logistics partner. They implemented a goods-to-man based CPS order picking system with 7 QUICKSTORE miniloads. This helped them to handle a growing number of orders and improve customer service levels.
Further examples of goods-to-man picking solutions can be found at Plus Retail, Amgen, Micarna, Herma and TVH.
