Vanderlande Industries and IBM have signed a contract for a new baggage handling system at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The new baggage handling system, known as “The Backbone”, is part of the airport’s 70 MB programme to increase capacity to 70 million bags in the future. Contract value for Vanderlande is 84 million Euros.

New sortation solution for Posten Logistik SCM Oy in Finland
Vanderlande Industries has received an order for a new parcel sorting system to be installed at the new terminal for Posten Logistik SCM Oy in Turku, Finland. The new terminal and sorting system are necessary to meet Posten Logistik’s increased capacity needs and to further optimise the company’s parcel network.
