MLS Spider of RSW IP wins Logistica Award 2009
The MLS Spider of RSW IP is the winner of the Logistica Award 2009. The Logistica award is an initiative of the Logistica foundation and VNU Exhibitions Europe. It is an award for the best and most innovative logistic solution and is awarded during the Logistica trade show on november 11th in Utrecht (NL). Goal of the award is to stimulate the development of innovative solutions within logistics. The award consists of an € 10.000 innovation budget, meant for further development of the innovation.
The MLS Spider is a machine that is capable of stacking cartons and totes with different dimensions and shapes with a high capacity on pallets as well as rollcages. The MLS Spider is a key element in the new automated case picking concept of Vanderlande Industries. The MLS Spider can be seen on the Vanderlande booth on the Logistica.
At the moment a launching project is being implemented at Nedac Sorbo, a supplier of cleaning products and other household articles. Together with Vanderlande Industries and seven partners a new order consolidation and picking system is installed in the warehouse in Duiven (NL). The MLS Spider is implemented in combination with two QUICKSTORE HDS automated storage and retrieval systems for totes and cartons.
