Vanderlande Industries France retrofits 2 POSISORTERs at Mory Team

Vanderlande Industries in France received an order in February 2008 for the mechanical retrofit of two POSISORTER sorters at the transport company Mory Team at Artenay near Orléans. These retrofit operations were carried out at two separated weekends (in 3 shifts for each), so they would not interfere with the customers’ operations.

The Mory Team system has been running since 1997 with two sorters. Unit length is 60 metres, with 10 two-sided and 10 one-sided spurs. These were retrofitted during weekends in June (one POSISORTER per weekend). The operation mainly involved replacement of moving parts to ensure continued high system reliability and availability. Restarting on Monday morning was 100% successful.

During quotations and presentations of the offers, the Vanderlande Industries Service team used the first successful retrofit of the UPS POSISORTER at Chilly-Mazarin, near Paris, in 2007 as a reference to convince the customers.

The UPS retrofit involved 1 double-sided sorter with 9 infeeds and 49 spurs. The sorter works five days a week, 23 hours a day, so total running hours before the retrofit were 41 200. This new order and also some other retrofit orders in the distribution sector continue the strong increase in sales of Services this year.
