Efficient handling and buffering of pallets and cages at Trans-o-Flex
For its new 13,500 m2 distribution hub in Cologne-Hürth, the German Express Parcel Specialist Trans-o-flex, a subsidiary of Österreichische Post (Austrian Post), chose a system with two POSISORTERS, with a capacity of 6,500 parcels per hour/90,000 items per day. The system is prepared for extension to double the throughput.
Key factor for the system design was the consolidation of sorted products on pallets. Optimal use of available floor space ensures the most efficient handling and buffering of pallets and cages. The two sorters systems are all standardised on the POSISORTER concept. Parcels are barcoded and automatically weighed and measured.
