Vanderlande acquired Ferdar Automation Technology (Ferdar) in 2014. Ferdar’s primary role is as an integrator of robotic systems, including in the logistics sector. The takeover increased Vanderlande’s experience and competence in the application and development of robotics for goods handling. Ferdar was renamed Vanderlande Robotics.
Robotics is becoming increasingly important in logistics automation and helps to optimise efficiency, profitability, continual operational availability and ergonomics. Robots are also being used in baggage handling systems at airports.
Vanderlande Robotics’ product line-up includes robotic technology for palletising and depalletising in warehouses.
