Understanding employee satisfaction levels and identifying areas for improvement remains a priority. In April 2024, we partnered with an external organisation to conduct a global employee experience survey, which resulted in an employee satisfaction rate of 73 – matching last year’s score. Following the survey, we implemented structured follow-ups, including conversations and action planning at a team level. Our Global Leadership Team also reviewed the results and identified company-wide themes that require additional focus. We will continue to work on these throughout the remainder of the year.
Over the past year, we have:
- worked to meet or exceed legislative standards for wages in countries without strong rules on fair pay
- continued to measure employee engagement through our annual Employee Experience Survey, as well as via onboarding and exit surveys
- launched our Integral Health Survey to help reduce absenteeism and increase employee engagement
- collaborated with employee resource groups, provided training to tackle unconscious bias, and signed up to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles
- worked in North America to bring in more job applicants from minority groups through our dedicated supplier diversity programme
- introduced corporate HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards for the use of personal protective equipment and contractor safety.
Enhancing employee experience
Our fulfilling experience action for the future
Over the next few years, we will:
- follow our five-point diversity, equity and inclusion framework to bring a more structured approach to increasing diversity in our workforce
- continue providing extensive hands-on training and regular assessments for customers and contractors in our value chain to make sure their employees can operate and maintain our systems safely
- aim for a 30% female participation rate in our talent acceleration programmes, so we can create a pipeline of women managers coming through to senior positions, with a goal of 20% by 2028
- work to reduce noise – a common issue with material handling systems – including bringing our equipment into line with the new European EN619:2022 noise protection standard
- step up efforts within our broader HSE programme on safety culture, communications and training
- and organise courses on LCAs and Design for Sustainability to ensure we embed circularity into product development.

Our other sustainability missions
Zero carbon footprint
We’ve created a roadmap to identify the main areas where we can reduce emissions upstream, downstream and in our own operations. We will be designing more energy-efficient solutions and products, and working closely with suppliers to reduce emissions from parts, components and equipment.

We’re taking a more circular approach to our solutions, as well as introducing circularity as a requirement in product and supplier criteria. Central to our work is reusing, recycling and remanufacturing as much as possible as we implement our Supplier Code of Conduct.

A growing number of laws and regulations affect our business. The Good Business programme ensures compliance, while helping us maintain high ethical standards. As part of this programme, we are strengthening vetting of suppliers, investing more in cybersecurity and embedding risk management into our operations.
