Vanderlande has reached the milestone of having more than 350 of its customers’ locations operating in the hosted Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software environment. Now the work of more than 850 maintenance engineers is planned and registered every day using this system.
It has been only two years since Vanderlande launched this centrally hosted EAM application. The main reason for the introduction of this solution was for the company and its customers to have remote access to an application for sharing maintenance activities and historical data. This is another significant step towards life-cycle management and condition-based maintenance.
Vanderlande developed the EAM functionality as an integral part of its service offering for automated baggage handling and material handling systems. It is offered as a cloud solution (software as a service) to achieve maximum synergy between customers and the Vanderlande team.
The centrally hosted Vanderlande EAM environment is based on IBM Maximo®. It is available 24/7 worldwide for customers and authorised Vanderlande personnel via a secure internet connection and a personal user account.
This means that Vanderlande customers do not have high upfront investment costs. The company’s maintenance knowledge and experience is integrated within the solution, so customers can fully benefit from years of expertise on Vanderlande equipment. This is unique for its business segments.
Vanderlande has chosen one application – IBM Maximo® – having already used it for more than ten years. IBM Maximo® is the market leader in the field of maintenance management software. It is fully web-based and available in 24 languages. As well as English, it also covers Spanish, Arabic, simplified and traditional Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.
