Split Airport selects integrated solution from Vanderlande

Split Airport in Croatia has selected Vanderlande to supply a new baggage handling system, which will include VIBES software and a life-cycle services package. The system will be installed in the airport’s new terminal and delivery is planned for completion by 30 April 2018.

Following its entry into the European Union in 2013, Croatia has enjoyed a boost in tourism over the past four years. Split Airport welcomed 2.3 million travellers in 2016 and passenger volumes rose by 60% in April 2017 compared to the same month in 2016. Within this figure, 80% of passengers were concentrated during the summer holiday season.

To be able to handle future growth, Split Airport made the decision to build a new terminal. It selected Vanderlande due to the company’s industry expertise and innovative solutions. These were identified as being the ideal match in supporting the airport’s future requirements.

Vanderlande will deliver an integrated solution, consisting of innovative systems, intelligent software and life-cycle services. It will feature check-in positions including counters, a BAXORTER, EBS (early bag storage) lanes, arrival carousels, and VIBES software. Vanderlande’s life-cycle services package will include MMS (mobile maintenance solution), IT monitoring, preventive maintenance inspections and a 24/7 hotline.
