Vanderlande had two stands, at which it demonstrated its response to the challenges of the dynamic aviation sector. The first of these innovations was FLEET, the company’s new baggage logistics solution, which is based on automated guided vehicle (AGV) technology. It replaces the need for fixed sortation systems, with each vehicle carrying a single bag.
The response of visitors to FLEET was extremely enthusiastic, and it was chosen as the winner of the 2017 inter airport Europe Innovation Award (interTERMINAL). This acknowledges the best recent innovations, products and equipment, with the interTERMINAL category representing terminal operations, infrastructure and technical installations.
Vanderlande also exhibited its latest developments in advanced passenger checkpoint (APC) solutions. The APC solution has been designed to help airports respond to growing security requirements and deliver a pleasant passenger experience. By seamlessly combining a modular automated screening lane with remote inspection capabilities, security personnel can significantly improve operational efficiencies at this sensitive area.
