Across our global organisation, teams are making a meaningful difference in many ways. In India, for example, we support initiatives like the Lighthouse programme, which provides young people from underserved communities with opportunities to learn, grow, and build a better future.
In other regions, colleagues partner with organisations that support vulnerable groups, creating not just practical help, but also genuine human connection. As one colleague shared, the real impact is often not just in the activity itself, but in the conversations and connections that happen along the way.
These global efforts show that corporate volunteering goes beyond individual actions. It builds a sense of community, both within Vanderlande and in the societies we are part of. It also reflects our belief that, as an international company, we have a responsibility to contribute where it truly matters.
In the Netherlands, we are now building on this strong global foundation. Following earlier initiatives, we are expanding corporate volunteering opportunities for teams, including activities in Veghel.
Small actions, meaningful impact
The true value of corporate volunteering often lies in seemingly small actions. For example, colleagues recently organised a session to help elderly community members better understand artificial intelligence. What started as a simple knowledge-sharing initiative turned into an inspiring exchange, full of curiosity, engagement, and mutual learning. The gratitude and enthusiasm of the participants made a lasting impression, showing how even a modest effort can have significant impact.
In another initiative, a team spent a day supporting a local care farm, contributing to a welcoming environment for people in need of support. Experiences like these remind us that impact is not always measured in scale, but in human connection, understanding, and the positive energy we bring to others.
Why it matters
Corporate volunteering reflects who we are as a company. It strengthens our culture, brings our values to life, and reinforces our connection with society. By giving our time, knowledge, and energy, we not only support communities, we also grow as individuals and as teams, both locally and globally.
