November 02, 2017 Van Gelder picks state-of-the-art automated solution from Vanderlande

Vanderlande has received a significant order from Dutch fresh food supplier Van Gelder for the installation of a state-of-the-art automated solution at its new facilities in Ridderkerk, near Rotterdam. The 30,000m2 site – located at the Nieuw-Reijerwaard business park – will be used for the storage, sortation and distribution of fruit and vegetable products, as well as acting as the company’s innovation centre.

March 27, 2017 Vanderlande’s pilot project with LIDL completed successfully - plans for roll-out under way

Vanderlande is pleased to announce the successful completion of a pilot project executed together with LIDL following a trial period lasting several years. At the heart of the pilot project was Vanderlande’s Automated Case Picking system (ACP), which was subjected to intensive testing at LIDL’s site in Hartheim near Freiburg. The final results led to a decision being taken to implement the ACP solution from Vanderlande together in future projects.

Vanderlande will showcase its Smart Item Robotics (SIR) technology for the e-commerce market during ProMat 2017. SIR technology focuses on the robotized handling of single items in applications such as order picking and infeed loading. The company will also demonstrate its ‘bin-to-bin’ picking concept, in which a collaborative robot based on SIR principles can operate both independently and together with an operator.
