From 8-11 October Vanderlande exhibited at the Munich Trade Fair in Germany where we showcased our new end-to-end baggage logistics approach – BAGFLOW – a scalable and modular concept that seamlessly integrates the complete journey of a bag. This concept was also chosen as the winner of the inter airport Europe Excellence Awards in the interFUTURE Special Award category.
The inter airport Europe Excellence Awards acknowledge the aviation industry’s best solution-focused technologies that help to further develop the market. The interFUTURE Special Award category rewards visionary and bold new ideas, products and services that help to build a platform on which to define and create the ‘airport of the future’.
By establishing an integrated approach to the total bag process – from the bag drop right through to the aircraft – BAGFLOW guarantees success for airports, airlines and passengers. It allows airports to handle more bags in the same footprint, optimise resources and keep costs under control. In addition, it facilitates a ‘pull’ approach and integrates the complete baggage flow in one control system.
In today’s aviation industry, airports are continually looking to reduce operational complexity, lower costs, and offer passengers a stress-free travel experience. In addition, they have to handle an ever-growing volume of bags and provide a cost-effective service within a limited footprint. Compact, flexible and scalable solutions are the ideal response and can help airports to sustain a reliable and predictable baggage operation.
With this in mind, Vanderlande presented ADAPTO BAGSTORE. This solution was uniquely demonstrated under a glass floor on which visitors could walk. ADAPTO BAGSTORE not only meets the current challenges facing airports, but also unlocks a range of additional opportunities. This is because it is central to Vanderlande’s BAGFLOW end-to end approach regarding baggage automation.
