Every company and every market is different. This is reflected in the layout of your airport.

Over recent years, LAX has undergone extensive refurbishment and expansion of its facilities to meet passenger and airline demand. The airport is also readying itself for two major events, as Los Angeles is hosting the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and is a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As a trusted partner, Vanderlande is committed to supporting LAX as it implements its strategic growth and expansion programmes.
Its commitment to building a long-term relationship led to the opening of a Vanderlande office at the airport five years ago. The presence of a permanent team adds value by helping to develop a real understanding of local circumstances and people. It knows how construction projects are managed, the local regulations and procedures, and supports the local community with great job opportunities.
LAX serves as one of Delta’s most important coastal hubs, operating over 155 peak-day flights to nearly 55 destinations across the globe, serving 19 of the top 20 markets for Los Angeles travelers. In 2016 Delta and Los Angeles World Airports formally kicked off the Delta Sky Way at LAX project — Delta’s plan to modernize, upgrade and connect Terminals 2, 3 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal (Terminal B).
Delta’s new Terminal 3, a 1.2-million-square-foot, 27-gate complex, debuted in April 2022 and features a centralized check-in lobby, expanded security checkpoint and baggage claim area, as well as a state-of-the-art Delta Sky Club, one of the largest in Delta’s system.
Vanderlande delivered the last phases of the new state-of-the art baggage handling system (BHS) connecting the terminals in July 2023 and the Delta Sky Way at LAX project was fully completed in August 2023, well in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
