Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Int. Airport

As a part of Delta’s commitment to enhance the customer experience, a significant upgrade to the Baggage Handling System is underway at HJAIA (Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport).
Vanderlande Industries will install over 22,000 linear feet of baggage handling conveyor, by expanding the outbound baggage handling system into Concourse B, and completely replacing the baggage claim units in the south arrivals lobby.
The arrivals claim unit replacement was completed in May 2008. Travelers will notice a more sleek, fresh look at the arrivals claim units, making use of Vanderlande TRIPLANAR units.
More capacity was added to the new outbound baggage system in June 2008, with final outbound capacity being reached prior to the holiday travel season of December 2008.
The completion of the existing baggage handling system modifications is scheduled for September 2009.
At completion, Vanderlande will have installed and commissioned approximately 900 conveyor drives for Delta Air Lines.
