Toyota WA – Life-cycle services

Toyota WA’s parts distribution centre (DC) in Perth, Western Australia (WA), went live in April 2025, complete with some of Vanderlande’s most advanced logistic process automation. To support the Toyota WA team, Vanderlande provides a service technician to keep things moving and minimise downtime.

Toyota WA

When Toyota WA decided to build a new parts distribution centre (DC), it chose Vanderlande as its automation partner. The facility in Perth, Western Australia, went live in April 2025 complete with Vanderlande’s FASTPICK highly automated goods-to-person solution.

Kaufland Germany

When German hypermarket chain Kaufland decided to automate its new distribution centre (DC) in Geisenfeld, Vanderlande’s STOREPICK solution proved to be the perfect choice. As well as handling high volumes of fast-moving stock with great efficiency, the system is also the company’s first step into robotic automation. The technologies combine to help the company boost productivity, maximise use of space, and support its sustainability ambitions.

Albert Heijn

Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn took the decision to automate its regional distribution centre (DC) at Zaandam, The Netherlands, to boost capacity, increase efficiency and reduce its dependency on labour. It chose STOREPICK, Vanderlande’s robotised end-to-end automated case picking (ACP) solution, which also provides store-friendly deliveries to a rising number of shops.

Václav Havel Airport Prague

In 2019, Vanderlande began work on a major expansion and refurbishment of two baggage handling systems (BHS) at Prague Airport. The goal was to help both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 cope with increasing passengers numbers, as well as bring the airport into compliance with ECAC Standard 3 screening regulations and improve links between the terminals.

Oman Airports | Life-cycle services

Oman Airports had to ensure that the operation and maintenance (O&M) of their BHS was in safe and reliable hands and chose Vanderlande for these important tasks. A three-year O&M contract was originally signed in 2015, and this has subsequently been extended in 2018 from 2022 until 2028.

Oman Airports

Vanderlande has provided state-of-the-art baggage handling systems for two new passenger terminals at Muscat and Salalah international airports in Oman. The systems are integral to wider upgrades of both sites, and moves them away from a completely manual process for sorting bags.

In the first of a new series, we fast forward five years and return to the UK retailer.

Fast forward > Digitec Galaxus

In this latest edition of the Fast Forward series, we fast forward three years after the go-live of Vanderlande’s MICROSHUTTLE at Digitec Galaxus in Switzerland. We return to the country’s biggest e-commerce company at Wohlen to find out how the innovative solution has fared under the most challenging of circumstances.

ifm’s old warehouse was too small to handle its next phase of development. For its new warehouse, Vanderlande proposed ADAPTO, a highly flexible 3D storage, retrieval and transportation system.

Kaufland Germany

When German hypermarket chain Kaufland decided to automate its new distribution centre (DC) in Geisenfeld, Vanderlande’s STOREPICK solution proved to be the perfect choice. As well as handling high volumes of fast-moving stock with great efficiency, the system is also the company’s first step into robotic automation. The technologies combine to help the company boost productivity, maximise use of space, and support its sustainability ambitions.

Lidl

Lidl’s distribution centre (DC) in Køge, Denmark, outperforms traditional order fulfilment methods by using Vanderlande’s state-of-the-art automated case picking solution.

Netto

In a buoyant food retail market, Netto was enjoying a period of sustained growth and a positive outlook, as its main distribution centre neared maximum capacity for the grocery assortment. To meet its needs for the future, the Danish discount food retailer decided to invest in new logistic automation and chose STOREPICK, Vanderlande’s end-to-end automated case picking solution.

Recio

Recio’s continued growth meant the system was approaching its peak capacity by 2012. To faciliate future growth, Recio needed an order processing system that combined state-of-the-art technology with traditional methods.

Rhenus Contract Logistics

In 2009, Vanderlande delivered a material handling system to Rhenus at its site in Tilburg, The Netherlands. However, Rhenus’s main customer had recently experienced strong growth of approximately 30% per year. As a result, it approached Vanderlande to see how the system’s performance could be improved.

Toyota WA

When Toyota WA decided to build a new parts distribution centre (DC), it chose Vanderlande as its automation partner. The facility in Perth, Western Australia, went live in April 2025 complete with Vanderlande’s FASTPICK highly automated goods-to-person solution.

Toyota WA – Life-cycle services

Toyota WA’s parts distribution centre (DC) in Perth, Western Australia (WA), went live in April 2025, complete with some of Vanderlande’s most advanced logistic process automation. To support the Toyota WA team, Vanderlande provides a service technician to keep things moving and minimise downtime.

Udea

Udea is a wholesaler of organic foods, natural personal care products and sustainable non-food items. For its new centralised distribution centre (DC) in Veghel, The Netherlands, Udea needed a state-of-the-art automated solution that provided the necessary levels of availability, performance and reliability to match its omni-channel needs.

URBN Outfitters

URBN’s largest fulfilment centre in Gap, Pennsylvania handles a portfolio of global consumer brands. It opened in 2015 and allowed URBN the flexibility to move into the future.

Van Gelder

Family-owned company, Van Gelder, is a major player in the Dutch fresh produce market. To facilitate ambitious plans for growth, and deal with issues such as labour scarcity and demanding lead times, the company took the decision to automate its warehouse with Vanderlande’s ADAPTO automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS).

Vegalsa-Eroski

Vegalsa-Eroski is the leading retailer in the food distribution sector in Galicia, with a commercial network of 263 stores (owned and franchised) and 87 smaller enterprises. Sales are booming but getting enough product out to the stores had become a real challenge.

Würth

Würth chose to install Vanderlande’s highly flexible storage, retrieval and transportation system – ADAPTO. This makes optimal use of the available space in Riihimäki through its high storage density.

Zalando Sweden

Zalando selected Vanderlande’s AIRTRAX Pocket sorter to act as the heart of the new facility. Containing 6,500 pockets, it has been implemented as a pilot project.
