Oslo Airport (life-cycle services)

Dialogue and communication are key

Situated 51km to the north of Norway’s capital in Gardermoen, Oslo Airport is the country’s main international airport and domestic hub. As testament to its importance, Oslo is the 19th busiest airport in Europe, and second in the Nordic region.

Over time, the challenges and demands facing Oslo Airport have changed significantly. Due to the manner in which it has developed over the past 25 years – the growth and expansion of the airport and its evolving baggage handling system – dialogue and communication between Vanderlande and Oslo have become crucial.

To help Oslo Airport achieve its strategic ambitions and maintain a reliable operation, Vanderlande provides a comprehensive life-cycle services package. Its site-based team consists of 50 full-time employees, and it also delivers a broad range of asset and logistic services.

Over the past two decades, the relationship between both organisations has yielded positive results. One of the key milestones was the successful completion of the T2 project. As a result of Vanderlande’s continued involvement on site, Oslo also enjoyed its best-ever summer peak in 2017.

“For me, Vanderlande is absolutely a reliable partner, this can be seen in the way they satisfy our needs, offering solutions to meet our challenges.”
Thorgeir Landevaag, Terminal Operations Director | Oslo Airport
